Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to overnight fire on Collegiate Avenue and garage fire on Ethelbert Street

Winnipeg, MB – At 12:42 a.m. on Tuesday, January7, 2020, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to reports of a fire in a single-family, two-storey home in the 100 block of Collegiate Avenue.

When crews arrived, they encountered smoke coming from the home. Crews launched an offensive attack, declaring the fire under control at 1:19 a.m.

Crews completed a search of the home and no occupants were located. No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation, and no damage estimates are available.

At 6:54 a.m., WFPS responded to reports of a fire in a detached garage in the 200 block of Ethelbert Street. When crews arrived, they encountered smoke coming from the garage.

Crews launched an offensive attack, declaring the fire under control at 7:14 a.m. No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation, and no damage estimates are available.
