Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to barn fire on St. Mary’s Road

Released: November 6, 2019 at 9:01 p.m.

Winnipeg, MB – At 4:06 p.m. on November 6, 2019, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to reports of fire in a small barn-style shed located in the 3300 block of St. Mary’s Road.

Once on scene, crews found heavy smoke and flames coming from the structure. An attack was launched, with crews using water tankers to shuttle water as the barn is outside of the City of Winnipeg water district.

The fire was declared under control at 4:59 p.m. The structure suffered significant damages and is expected to be a complete loss.

No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation and no damage estimates are available at this time.
