Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to fires on Cadboro Road and Eaglewood Drive

Winnipeg, MB – At 12:11 a.m. on October 5, 2019, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to reports of fire in two vacant storage structures in the 300 block of Cadboro Road. Upon arrival on scene, crews encountered heavy flames and smoke coming from the structures.

An offensive attack was launched, with crews using water tankers to shuttle water to the location which falls outside of the City of Winnipeg water district. The fire was declared under control at 12:40 a.m. Damage to one structure was significant, while the second structure is believed to be a complete loss.

Crews completed a search of the structures and no occupants were found. No injuries were reported.

At 1:24 a.m., the WFPS responded to reports of a fire on Eaglewood Drive. Upon arrival, crews encountered smoke coming from two construction site trailers. The fire was very quickly brought under control. No injuries were reported.

The cause of both fires is under investigation. No damage estimates are available at this time.
