Winnipeg, MB – At 12:53 p.m. on October 4, 2019, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to reports of a fire in a four-storey apartment complex in the 0-100 block of Prevette Street. Upon arrival on scene, crews encountered smoke coming from a fourth-storey window and launched an offensive attack. The fire was very quickly knocked down and then firefighters worked to ventilate the building. Damage was contained to the suite where the fire originated.
Occupants of the suite where the fire originated safely self-evacuated prior to the arrival of crews. They were both assessed on scene by paramedics and then transported to hospital in stable condition. No other injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation and no damage estimates are available at this time.
