Update: Downtown lane closures this weekend for road construction

Winnipeg, MB – Three streets at the heart of Downtown will be affected by construction closures this weekend, from 7 a.m. Saturday, September 28 through 7 p.m. Sunday, September 29 for road construction.

  • Southbound Memorial Boulevard will be reduced to one lane from Portage Avenue to St. Mary Avenue, and will be closed completely between St. Mary and York avenues. Traffic will still be able to move southbound by transitioning onto Osborne Street.
  • Westbound St. Mary Avenue from Vaughan Street to Memorial Boulevard will be completely closed to traffic.
  • Northbound Osborne Street will be reduced to one lane from York Avenue to St. Mary Avenue throughout the majority of the weekend, and will be completely closed for approximately 2-4 hours on Sunday. Northbound traffic will be rerouted down York Avenue.

Throughout the closure, eastbound Broadway will remain accessible via left turn from southbound Osborne Street; eastbound York Avenue (east of Memorial Boulevard) will remain accessible via northbound Memorial Boulevard.
