Winnipeg, MB – At 11:30 p.m. on August 28, 2019, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to reports of smoke and the smell of burning in a one and a half storey home in the 300 block of Guildford Street.

Once on scene, crews found light smoke in the home and used thermal imaging cameras to find an area burning in the walls of the attic. Walls were taken down to allow firefighters access to the fire, and by 12:31 a.m. they declared it under control.

Occupants of the home safely self-evacuated prior to the arrival of crews. No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. Damage estimates are not available at this time.
