City of Winnipeg spray pads to open starting May 25

Winnipeg, MB – The City of Winnipeg will be opening spray pads starting Saturday, May 25, 2019.

“Winnipeg has 21 spray pads locations across the city, making them easily accessible for all residents,” said Sherri Rollins, Chair of the Standing Policy Committee on Protection, Community Services and Parks. “People of all ages can enjoy these family-friendly amenities throughout the summer months.”

Spray Pads

On May 25, the following City spray pads will open:

  • Central Corydon Community Centre - River Heights Site
  • Central Park
  • Freight House Outdoor Pool Spray Pad
  • Gateway Recreation Centre
  • Jill Officer Park
  • Machray Park
  • Old Ex
  • Park City West Community Centre
  • Provencher Park
  • Shaughnessy Park
  • South Winnipeg Community Centre - Waverley Heights Site
  • St. James Assiniboia Centennial Pool
  • St. Norbert Community Centre
  • Sturgeon Heights Community Centre
  • Valley Gardens Community Centre
  • Vimy Ridge Memorial Park
  • West Kildonan Memorial Community Centre
  • Westdale Outdoor Pool Spray Pad

The opening of the following spray pads will be briefly delayed:

  • Fort Rouge Park Spray Pad
  • Lindenwood Spray Pad
  • Lindsey Wilson Park Spray Pad

Spray pads operate from 9:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., every day of the week until September 2, 2019.

Outdoor Pools

Kildonan Park Outdoor Pool and Transcona Aquatic Park are anticipated to open on Friday, June 14. The City’s heated and unheated outdoor pools are anticipated to open on Friday, June 28.

All outdoor pools will operate seven days a week, weather permitting. Contact 311 or visit City of Winnipeg – Outdoor Pools for more information on pool hours and amenities.

Wading Pools

The City’s 81 wading pools are anticipated to open on a staggered basis beginning Monday, July 1 and Tuesday, July 2.
