Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service Update: Ghent Cove Fire

Winnipeg, MB – At 9:44 p.m. on May 17, 2019, Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) crews responded to reports of fire in a two-storey home in the 0-100 block of Ghent Cove. Upon arrival crews encountered heavy smoke and flames coming from the attached garage and extending into the eaves and attic of the home. Crews employed both offensive and defensive attacks, bringing the fire under control at 10:35 p.m.

The sole occupant of the home at the time of the fire, along with two family dogs, safely self-evacuated prior to the arrival of crews. No injuries were reported.

The fire is under investigation. No damage estimates are available at this time.
