Motorists should expect significant delays, allow additional travel time, and use alternate routes

Winnipeg, MB – Starting Monday, June 10, Fermor Avenue between Lagimodière Boulevard and Plessis Road will be reduced to one lane in each direction until November for the Fermor Avenue Asphalt Reconstruction and Widening Project.

This project includes construction work in both 2019 and 2020. The work in 2019 will be done on the eastbound lanes and will include road rehabilitation, installation of land drainage systems and culverts, new path construction, connection of Royal Mint Drive to Fermor Avenue, widening of the existing Fermor right-of-way, and reconstruction of the roadway with asphalt pavement.

During construction, one lane of traffic in each direction will remain open on Fermor Avenue and intersecting streets, and access to businesses will be maintained.

With traffic reduced to one lane in each direction, motorists should expect significant delays, allow additional travel time to get to their destinations, and use alternate routes as required.
