Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service Update: Wordsworth Way Fire

Winnipeg, MB – At 10:05 p.m. on April 27, 2019, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to reports of a fire in a single family bungalow in the 0-100 block of Wordsworth Way. Upon arrival on scene, crews found heavy smoke and flames coming from the roof of the home. An offensive attack was launched and the fire was declared under control at 11:02 p.m. The home suffered significant smoke, fire and water damage.

All occupants of the home had self-evacuated prior to the arrival of crews. The home was equipped with a working smoke alarm. No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire was determined to be accidental due to an electrical system failure in the attic area of the home. No damage estimates are currently available.
