Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service Update: William Avenue Fire

Winnipeg, MB – At 3:14 a.m. on April 3, 2019, Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service crews responded to reports of a fire in a vacant three-storey walk-up apartment building in the 400 block of William Avenue. Once on scene, crews launched a defensive attack but later, once conditions improved, moved to an interior offensive attack. The fire was declared under control at 4:50 a.m.

Crews completed a full search of the structure and no occupants were found. The home on the east side of the building was temporarily evacuated as a precaution. No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. No damage estimates are available at this time.
