Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service Update: Maryland Street Fires

Winnipeg, MB – Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) crews responded to two fires on Maryland Street this morning.

At 11:19 a.m. a report was received from Winnipeg Police Service members regarding a fire in a garage in the 400 block of Maryland Street. WFPS crews arrived on scene and quickly knocked down the fire, declaring it under control at 11:35 a.m.

At 11:20 a.m. 911 reports were received regarding a vehicle fire in the 200 block of Maryland Street that was potentially threatening a nearby home. Once on scene, WFPS confirmed the residence was evacuated and quickly extinguished the fire which had consumed two vehicles. There was no damage to the adjacent home.

No injuries were reported as a result of either fire. Both will be under investigation. No damage estimates are available at this time.
