Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service Update: Manitoba Avenue Fire

Released: March 23, 2019 at 8:33 a.m.

Winnipeg, MB - At 11:21 p.m. on March 22, 2019, Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) crews responded to reports of a fire in a multi-family home in the 400 block of Manitoba Avenue. Once on scene, crews launched an interior offensive attack, very quickly bringing the fire under control. The suite where the fire occurred suffered significant fire, smoke and water damage.

WFPS crews completed a full search of the structure and determined the occupants from all four suites in the home had self-evacuated. No injuries were reported. Crews ventilated the smoke from the building and the occupants from the three suites not damaged by fire were able to return.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. No damage estimates are available at this time.
