Winnipeg, MB – At 3:18 p.m. on February 12, 2019 Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) crews responded to reports of a fire in a single family bungalow in the 0-100 block of Sumter Crescent. Once on scene, crews found heavy smoke. Using an interior, offensive attack, the fire was declared under control at 3:36 p.m.
There were no human occupants in the home at the time of the fire. WFPS crews located one dog and three cats in the residence. Attempts were made, but the dog and two of the cats were unable to be resuscitated.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. No damage estimates are available at this time.
