Additional consultation on implementation of the Corydon-Osborne Area Plan

Released: June 16, 2016 at 1:15 p.m.

Winnipeg, MB - The public is invited to a workshop on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 regarding the implementation of the Corydon-Osborne Area Plan. The Plan was adopted by City Council in 2014 and is a vision to guide future growth and change in the area in accordance with OurWinnipeg, the City’s long range development plan. The Plan also outlines the City's commitments and priorities over next 20 years for land use, transportation, services and parks and open space in the area.

This workshop has been planned to review the feedback received at the March 9, 2016 open house and to discuss new options regarding the proposed rezonings. The meeting will begin with an overview presentation by City staff followed by a facilitated discussion.

Community members provided feedback on presentation boards and via a survey at the open house and online. The feedback received identified areas where more community discussion is needed. Specifically, the City heard from many members of the community that there was a need to re-examine the proposed change from “R1” to “R2” zoning.

The workshop takes place:

When: Tuesday, June 21, 2016

Time: 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Where: Earl Grey Community Centre, 360 Cockburn Street

The meeting is open to all, but organizers are requesting that those attending RSVP so the space can be organized to accommodate facilitation activities. To RSVP, please email or call 204-986-2636.
