Join us at the Downtown Bike Lane System and West Alexander Cycling Corridor projects event on June 23 or provide feedback online

Winnipeg, MB - Winnipeggers are invited to view and provide feedback on preferred designs for two pedestrian and cycling projects: the Downtown Bike Lane System and West Alexander Cycling Corridor projects.

An in-person pop-up engagement event will take place on June 23 at The Forks where residents can view the preferred design options, speak with members of the project team, provide feedback and ask questions. If residents are unable to attend the in-person event, the preferred design options can be viewed at winnipeg.ca/walkbikeprojects and feedback can be provided through an online survey.

In September 2015, the City of Winnipeg initiated a public engagement process to receive input on the Downtown Bike Lane System and the West Alexander Pedestrian and Cycling Corridor projects. The public has provided a great deal of feedback through a public engagement website, stakeholder meetings, community workshops, tire talks and open houses. Feedback received during this process has been incorporated into preferred design options, which include a two-way protected bike lane on Garry Street and a two-way protected bike lane on McDermot Avenue.

Pop-up engagement event details:
Date: Thursday, June 23, 2016
Time: 4 p.m. - 6 p.m.
Location: The Forks (South Atrium)
