Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service hosting Fire Prevention Week, October 4 to 10

Winnipeg, MB - Fire Prevention Week 2015 is being held across Canada from October 4 to 10. The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) is working with its partners to provide educational and entertaining activities that highlight the importance of fire prevention in our communities. The theme for this year's Fire Prevention Week is Hear the beep where you sleep!

Home Depot Kids' Day
WFPS firefighters will team up with Home Depot to promote Fire Prevention Week by taking part in workshops with kids at all five Winnipeg Home Depots.
When: Sunday, October 4 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Where: all five Winnipeg Home Depot locations

Fire Prevention Week Kick-off
The Fire Prevention Week kick-off will feature the pumper and crew, and lots of great information for kids. The kick-off will be celebrated by WFPS partners including the Mayor's Office, the Office of the Fire Commissioner, and other sponsors.
When: Monday, October 5 at 10:00 a.m.
Where: David Livingstone School, 270 Flora Avenue

Fire Drills
Schools across Winnipeg will take part in a fire drill, promoting fire safety and providing tips on Fire Prevention to students.
When: Friday, October 9 at 1:00 p.m.
Where: Schools across Winnipeg

Fire Paramedic Station Open House
All Winnipeg fire paramedic stations will invite the public in for an open house. Kids submit ballots to become the Fire Chief for the Day.
When: Saturday, October 10 from noon to 4:00 p.m.
Where: all WFPS fire paramedic stations
