Use MyUtility to manage your utility account online on your time

You can manage your utility bill online from your phone, tablet or computer.

Are you moving? Did you get an estimated utility bill? Need to submit a water meter reading? Don’t worry about calling the Utility Billing Centre. You can use MyUtility’s online forms instead.

You can report a move, request a re-bill for an estimated bill, submit a meter reading, and manage your account online using MyUtility’s online forms.

Moving

When you’re moving out of your home, you need to submit a final meter reading on the day you move out.

When you’re moving in to a new home, you need to submit a meter reading on the day you move in. If it’s your first home and you don’t have a utility account yet, you need to open one.

Use our online form to submit your water meter readings, report your move or open a new account.

Estimated bills

If you got an estimated bill, you can request a re-bill online using our submit a water meter reading formThe re-bill request must be submitted before your bill’s due date, or late payment fees will apply.

To request a re-bill online, you will need to:

After you submit the reading, a message will pop up to tell you if you qualify for a new bill or not. You will also receive an email with the same information.

If the meter reading you submit is nearly the same as the estimated reading that was used to calculate your most recent bill, you won’t get a new bill. You will need to pay the estimated amount by the due date to avoid late payment fees. Any adjustments to charges will be made when you submit your reading for your next bill.  

If the meter reading you submit is higher or lower than the estimated reading that was used to calculate your most recent bill, you will get a new bill. Late payment fees only apply if you submit the re-bill request after your original bill’s due date. 

Meter readings

Every household needs to submit at least one accurate water meter reading per year. It’s easy to do using our submit a water meter reading form on MyUtility.

To read the water meter:

  • Make sure you have the meter number. You can find it on your meter reading card.
  • Locate the water meter. They are normally found in basements or crawl spaces.
  • If the meter has a lid, lift it.
  • When you read the meter, write down every number from left to right exactly as it appears on the 'odometer style' display of the meter's dial. This includes all zeros at the beginning and the black number(s) at the end.

Manage your account online

With MyUtility, you can also manage your utility account online. After you sign up for an account, you can:

  • Get your bills quicker with paperless billing
  • Check your current balance
  • See your bill payment due date
  • Set up pre-authorized payments
  • Track how much water you’re using and find leaks faster
  • Request a new water meter if the City notified you that yours needs to be replaced
