Get involved! Tell the City your thoughts on improving communications and public engagement

Winnipeg, MB - The City of Winnipeg invites you to participate in a survey about how you would like us to communicate with you, and engage with you on City projects.

The City wants to improve how it engages with the public. To achieve this, the City is reviewing how it communicates with the public, including social media, public engagement, and open houses. The goal is to empower everyone to play a role in community decision-making - and the City is looking to hear from Winnipeggers about how they want to be engaged.

“The world of communications is changing,” said City of Winnipeg Chief Administrative Officer Doug McNeil. “Mobile and digital technology, along with social media and the internet, continue to create new opportunities to engage and inform the public, and the City of Winnipeg wants to hear from the public directly - about how they want to hear from us.”

The survey is available at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/WinnipegPublicSurvey. This is an opportunity to provide input into how the City engages with and informs the public about City projects, programs and services. Personal information is not required, and all of the responses are completely confidential.â The survey will be available online until September 18, 2015. A survey is also being conducted with the local news media.

The surveys are components of an independent, third-party review of the City’s corporate communications function being conducted by Argyle Communications Inc., under Request for Proposals 519-2014. Once completed, the communications review will be presented to the Mayor and Council, later this year.
