Winnipeg Transit options for FIFA Women's World Cup Canada 2015™

Winnipeg, MB - The City of Winnipeg is excited to host the FIFA Women's World Cup Canada 2015™! To get you to the games, Winnipeg Transit has several regular routes that will operate to and from Investors Group Field (known as Winnipeg Stadium for the duration of the tournament) and the University of Manitoba before and after matches.

This is a major special event which will result in the City being very busy, specifically on Pembina Highway. It expected that buses serving the Fort Garry and the stadium area will also be busy; therefore all regular Transit riders and FIFA patrons are advised to leave early to ensure a timely arrival at their destination.

FIFA patrons are also encouraged to check bus schedules at winnipegtransit.com before leaving for each match.

Pre-match Transit routes

Usual Transit fares will apply to all Winnipeg Transit services for FIFA. Riders can catch the following routes to get to the match:

  • 60 Pembina
  • 75 Crosstown East
  • 78 Crosstown West
  • 160 Downtown - University of Manitoba
    • Winnipeg Transit will be offering extra buses on Route 160. Buses will operate at 10-minute intervals beginning at 1:00 p.m. on match days from downtown via Graham Avenue, Main Street and the Transitway to Winnipeg Stadium.
  • 162 Downtown - Fort Richmond (University of Manitoba)

Post-match Transit routes

After the match, FIFA fans can catch Winnipeg Transit buses on Chancellor Matheson Road, lined up next to Winnipeg Stadium and across from the old Bison Stadium facing west towards Pembina Highway. There will be no charge for passengers to ride these routes post-match.

  • 160 University of Manitoba - Downtown
    • Buses will be lined up for this route on Chancellor Matheson Road, in front and across from the old Bison Stadium facing west towards Pembina Highway
  • 75 Crosstown East
    • Buses will be lined up on Chancellor Matheson next to Winnipeg Stadium facing west towards Pembina Highway
  • 78 Crosstown West
    • Buses will be lined up on Chancellor Matheson next to Winnipeg Stadium facing west towards Pembina Highway
  • 162 Fort Richmond - St. Norbert Express
    • Buses will pick up riders as the usual stop, Southbound University Crescent at Dafoe.
  • 170 Fort Richmond - St. Norbert
    • Buses will pick up riders as the usual stop, Southbound University Crescent at Dafoe.

Winnipeg Transit will post signage at Winnipeg Stadium to help riders find the correct bus to board.

Park and Ride

There are four FIFA Park & Ride locations across the city providing non-stop service on specially marked FIFA school buses to Winnipeg Stadium. There is no charge to park your vehicle; however there will be a $5.00/person charge for this round trip service. It will be collected at Winnipeg Stadium as you exit the bus.

Park and Ride locations include:

  • Route A - Park & Ride Super Express - McPhillips Station Casino - 484 McPhillips Street
  • Route B - Park & Ride Super Express - Club Regent Casino - 1425 Regent Ave West
  • Route C - Park & Ride Super Express - Church of the Rock - 1397 Buffalo Place
  • Route D - Park & Ride Super Express - Victoria Inn Hotel - 1808 Wellington Avenue

Hotel Shuttles from Downtown

Specially marked FIFA buses (operated by Greyhound Canada and Beaver Bus Lines) will provide non-stop Hotel Shuttle service between the downtown and Winnipeg Stadium starting two hours prior to afternoon kick-off. There will be a $5.00 per person charge for this round trip service. It will be collected at Winnipeg Stadium as you exit the bus.

  • Mere Hotel - Temporary Bus Stop on Southbound Waterfront at James
  • The Fairmont - Bus Stop #10762 Westbound Portage at Main
  • Marlborough Hotel - Bus Stop # 10541 Westbound Portage at Garry
  • Radisson Hotel & Alt Hotel - Bus Stop #10541 Westbound Portage at Donald
  • Quest Hotel - Bus Stop #10543 Westbound Portage at Edmonton (Portage Place)
  • Holiday Inn - Temporary bus stop on Southbound Memorial near Art Gallery

Route S (via St. Mary)

  • Inn at the Forks - Bus Stop #10907 Eastbound Forks Market Road Transit Terminal
  • Humphry Inn - Bus Stop #10620 Westbound St. Mary at Fort
  • Place Louis Riel - Temporary bus stop on Westbound St. Mary at Smith
  • Delta Hotel - Temporary bus stop on Westbound St. Mary at Hargrave
