Winnipeg, MBTwenty-four City-owned community centres will receive funding for renovations through the City of Winnipeg’s Community Centre Renovation Grant Program (CCRGP).

"Before serving on Council and as Mayor, I was involved with my local community centre, so I know firsthand how essential these spaces are and how much they rely on well-maintained facilities,” said Mayor Scott Gillingham. “This funding helps ensure our community centres remain accessible and ready to serve families across Winnipeg through critical repairs, safety improvements, and much-needed upgrades.”

“Community centres are the backbone of our neighbourhoods — they are where kids play, families gather, seniors stay active, and communities connect,” said Vivian Santos, Chairperson of the Standing Policy Committee on Community Services. “Through the Community Centre Renovation Grant Program, the City is making targeted, practical investments to ensure these facilities remain safe, accessible, and functional for the volunteers and boards who work tirelessly to keep them running. Supporting these upgrades is about protecting community assets and strengthening the social fabric of Winnipeg, today and for years to come.”
