Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to fire on Dufferin Avenue

Winnipeg, MB – At 1:36 p.m. on Saturday, September 14, 2024, Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service crews responded to reports of fire in a vacant and boarded up residential structure in the 600 block of Dufferin Avenue.

When crews arrived on scene, smoke was coming from the structure. They launched an offensive fire attack and applied water to the fire using handlines. The fire was declared under control within 30 minutes.

Firefighters completed a search of the structure and there were no occupants inside. No injuries were reported.

The structure was previously damaged by a fire on July 26, 2024. Damage estimates are not available.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
