Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to fire on Pritchard Avenue

Winnipeg, MB – At 3:02 a.m. on Thursday, August 22, 2024, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to reports of a fire in a vacant, one-and-a-half storey house in the 500 block of Pritchard Avenue.

When crews arrived on scene, they found the house engulfed in flames. Due to dangerous conditions, they were unable to enter the house. They launched a fire attack from the exterior, using hand lines and an aerial ladder to apply water to the fire. The fire was declared under control at 6:09 a.m.

The structure suffered significant water, smoke and fire damage and emergency demolition will take place today. The house also suffered significant damage from a previous fire on January 1, 2023.

The fire is under investigation. There were no injuries reported.
