If you use the community recycling depot on Ness Avenue, you’ll want to take note of some changes.
Construction is starting soon on the St. James Civic Centre expansion. That means the community recycling depot in the parking lot will need to close. The last date you can bring recyclables to the location is May 4, 2025.
We know this closure may be inconvenient. We appreciate your understanding.
Here are some ways you can work around this closure:
- Find another community recycling depot. Community recycling depots accept the same materials as our curbside blue bins. They are open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
- Bring your recyclables to a 4R Winnipeg Depot near you. They accept a variety of household recyclables, including electronics, light bulbs, and even food scraps. Make sure to check their hours before leaving
- Consider upgrading to a bigger or second recycling cart.
Before tossing something in the trash, search Recyclepedia for where it should go.
The St. James Civic Centre will close beginning June 15, 2025 until next fall. The Ab McDonald Arena will be open during its regular ice seasons. Check the expansion project’s website for the latest updates through construction.
