Winnipeggers asked to help shape how our City prepares and responds to climate change

City of Winnipeg is asking for input on updating the Winnipeg Climate Action Plan

Winnipeg, MB – It’s time for Winnipeggers to weigh in on climate change.

The chance of extreme heat, storms, floods, droughts, and wildfires is increasing. The need to cut pollution and use less energy is also becoming more urgent. Climate planning and solutions are changing quickly to address risks.

We’re updating the Winnipeg Climate Action Plan to keep pace with these changes and our community’s needs. We’re planning ahead instead of reacting to climate impacts.

To help us make that plan, we want to know how Winnipeggers are affected by the changing climate. We also want to know where you think we fit in as a municipality.

What we hear will help us develop actions to lower emissions, adapt to a changing climate, and protect our community and its infrastructure.

The Winnipeg Climate Action Plan survey is available until Sunday, June 28, 2026 at winnipeg.ca/climateactionplan.

We are also working with Indigenous Rightsholders, equity groups, and climate experts on the Winnipeg Climate Action Plan Update. These voices will help shape the research, analysis, and actions in the updated plan. The plan is expected to be finished in late 2027.
