Winnipeg, MB – The City of Winnipeg has activated traffic signals at the intersection of Wilkes Avenue and Charleswood Road. The new signals will:

  • Improve traffic flow and increase road safety along an important corridor
  • Support the growing Ridgewood West community

“The new traffic signals at Wilkes Avenue and Charleswood Road mark a key step in improving safety along Wilkes,” said Councillor Evan Duncan, Charleswood – Tuxedo – Westwood. “With growth from Ridgewood West, increased traffic from the Perimeter, and ongoing development in Tuxedo, this intersection has become a vital connection. These signals reflect our commitment to safer, more efficient travel for everyone in the area.”

Developer Qualico funded the full cost of the traffic signal installation at approximately $350,000. The City will fund maintenance and operating costs, estimated at $5,000 annually.
