Residents advised to be aware of unpaid parking ticket text message scam

Released: August 8, 2025 at 5:05 p.m.

Winnipeg, MB – The City of Winnipeg is aware someone is sending text messages impersonating the Winnipeg Parking Authority.

Residents are reminded that while Winnipeg Parking Authority does not send out text messages, our collections agency, CBV Collection Services Ltd., sends text message reminders to those with outstanding fines. These texts may contain links for payment and always direct the recipient to “call Wpg311 to validate.”

Anyone who receives a text and is unsure if it's valid should contact 311. If you believe you are a victim of a fraud or scam, it is important to report it.
