Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to fire on Addison Crescent

Winnipeg, MB – At 1:19 a.m. on Saturday, September 28, 2024, Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service crews responded to reports of fire at a bungalow in the 0 to 100 block of Addison Crescent.

Firefighters could see smoke and flames coming from the structure when they arrived at the scene. They launched an offensive fire attack, using hand lines to apply water to the fire. It was declared under control at 2:07 a.m.

Crews completed a search of the house, and rescued two cats. Animal Services was called to provide care for the animals.

There were no other occupants inside the house, and no injuries were reported.

The structure suffered significant smoke, water and fire damage. Damage estimates are not available at this time.

Preliminary observations suggest the fire was accidental, caused by an electrical malfunction.
