Winnipeg, MB – At 12:19 p.m. on Friday, August 23, 2024, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to reports of a fire in a one-and-a-half storey, single-family house in the 400 block of Pritchard Avenue.
When crews arrived, they found light smoke in the house and located a fire. They launched a fire attack from inside the house, declaring the fire under control at 12:32 p.m.
There was one individual in the house at the time of the fire. They were alerted to the fire by a working smoke alarm and safely self-evacuated prior to the arrival of crews. The individual was assessed by paramedics but did not require transport to hospital. There were no other injuries reported.
Firefighters located one cat in the residence and brought it to safety.
The fire is under investigation. Damage estimates are not available at this time.
