Released: July 10, 2024 at 3:30 p.m.

Winnipeg, MB – At 12:27 p.m. on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to reports of a fire in a single-family bungalow in the 1400 block of Pritchard Avenue.

Upon arrival on scene, crews found smoke coming from the structure. They entered and fought the fire from the interior of the house, declaring the fire under control at 12:45 p.m.

All occupants safely self-evacuated prior to the arrival of crews. No injuries were reported.

Preliminary observations suggest the fire was accidental, caused through the use of hot tools in a home renovation project. Damage estimates are not available at this time.
