Winnipeg, MB – Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) crews responded to fires on Alexander Avenue and Larsen Avenue.
Alexander Avenue fire
At 11:36 p.m. on Monday, June 24, WFPS crews responded to reports of fire at a two-storey house in the 400 block of Alexander Avenue.
Upon arrival to the scene, they found an outdoor fire that was extending to the structure. They launched a fire attack and used hose lines to put the fire out. It was declared under control at 11:55 p.m.
Firefighters completed a search of the building and no occupants were found. No injuries were reported.
Damage estimates are not available at this time.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Larsen Avenue fire
At 12:21 a.m. on Tuesday, June 25, WFPS crews responded to reports of fire at a one-and-a-half-storey house in the 200 block of Larsen Avenue.
Heavy smoke was coming from the structure and the fire was well involved when crews arrived on scene. They initially launched an offensive fire attack, but conditions became unsafe and they switched to a defensive attack, putting the fire out from outside the house. The fire was declared under control at 1:33 a.m.
Firefighters completed a search of the structure and no occupants were found. No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. Damage estimates are not available.
