Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to two fires on Logan Avenue

Winnipeg, MB – At 8:05 p.m. on Monday, June 3, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to reports of a fire in a vacant house in the 600 block of Logan Avenue.

When crews arrived on scene, they found heavy black smoke coming from the structure. They entered and fought the fire from inside, declaring the fire under control at 8:22 p.m.

Crews completed a search of the house and no occupants were found. No injuries were reported.

At 8:13 p.m., additional crews responded to a monitored fire alarm in a commercial building in the 500 block of Logan Avenue.

A small fire had been kept under control by the building’s sprinkler system, and firefighters were quickly able to extinguish the remaining hot spots.

No injuries were reported.

Both fires are under investigation. Damage estimates are not available at this time.
