Winnipeg, MB – At 5:09 a.m. on Friday, May 17, Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service crews responded to reports of fire at a vacant, boarded up two-storey converted residential dwelling in the 300 block of Manitoba Avenue.

When crews arrived on scene, the fire was well involved and heavy smoke was coming from the structure. Firefighters launched a defensive attack, fighting the flames from outside the building. Crews completed a search of the building and no occupants were found. No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. The house had previously been damaged by fires on March 27, 2024 and April 15, 2024.

Damage estimates are not available at this time.
