Winnipeg, MB – At 11:28 a.m. on Tuesday, April 2, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to reports of fire in a commercial building in the 1400 block of Buffalo Place.

When they arrived on scene, crews found smoke coming from the structure. They launched an interior attack, fighting the fire from inside the building. The fire was declared under control at 11:53 a.m.

All occupants of the building self-evacuated before WFPS crews arrived. No injuries were reported.

Damage estimates are not available at this time. Preliminary investigations suggest the fire was accidental, caused by a mechanical failure.
