Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to fire on Logan Avenue

Winnipeg, MB – At 6:48 a.m. on Saturday, January 27, 2024, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to reports of a fire in a single-storey commercial/industrial building in the 200 block of Logan Avenue.

Upon arrival on scene, crews found heavy smoke and flames coming from the building. They launched a defensive fire attack, using aerial ladder trucks to apply water to the fire. Aerial and thermal imaging views from the WFPS drone were used to help direct water streams and locate hotspots. The fire was declared under control at 9:03 a.m.

The building partially collapsed due to fire damage. An emergency demolition is being arranged. WFPS crews will remain on scene into the afternoon putting out hotspots during the demolition process.

No injuries were reported. The fire is under investigation. Damage estimates are not available at this time.
