On November 17, 2023, at approximately 11:50 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the first 100 block of Isabel Street for the report of a male who had been stabbed.
Central General Patrol officers attended and located a 40-year-old adult male victim suffering from serious bodily injuries sustained from a stabbing. Officers provided emergency medical care with the application of a tourniquet. The victim was transported to hospital in unstable condition and underwent emergency surgery. He has since been upgraded to stable. Several suspects fled before police arrived.
Through their investigation, officers believe the assault occurred in the vicinity of Balmoral Street/Isabel Street by yet-to-be-identified suspects and that the injured victim attended a retail business for assistance.
No arrests have been made, and the Major Crimes Unit has assumed the investigation.
