Winnipeg, MB – The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to three structure fires this evening, Sunday, November 12, 2023.
Nairn Avenue
At 5:25 p.m., WFPS crews responded to reports of a fire in a vacant, two-storey house in the 600 block of Nairn Avenue.
When crews arrived to the scene, there was smoke coming from the structure. They fought the fire from the interior of the house, declaring the fire under control at 6:10 p.m.
Crews completed a search of the house and no occupants were located. No injuries reported.
The fire remains under investigation. Damage estimates are not available at this time.
Stella Walk fire
At 6:06 p.m., the WFPS responded to reports of a fire in a two-storey row-house structure on Stella Walk.
When crews arrived to the scene, they found smoke and flames coming from one of the units. Firefighters entered the building and fought the fire from inside. The fire was declared under control at 6:35 p.m.
A search of the building was completed and no occupants were found. There were no injuries reported.
The fire remains under investigation. Damage estimates are not available at this time.
Langside Street fire
At 7:21 p.m., WFPS crews responded to reports of a fire in two-and-a-half storey house in the 500 block of Langside Street.
Upon arrival on scene, crews encountered heavy smoke and flames coming from the house. Once some of the flames were knocked down from the exterior, they were able to enter the house to fight the fire. The fire was declared under control at 8:39 p.m.
Crews completed a search of the house and no occupants were located. No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. Damage estimates are not available at this time, but the house suffered significant smoke, fire, and water damage.
