Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to fires on Flora Avenue and Kilbride Avenue

Winnipeg, MB – The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to two recent structure fires.

Flora Avenue fire
At 12:06 p.m. on Sunday, November 12, 2023, the WFPS responded to reports of a fire in a vacant two-storey house in the 400 block of Flora Avenue.

Upon arrival on scene, crews encountered smoke coming from the house. They entered and fought the fire from inside the house, declaring the fire under control at 1:11 p.m.

Firefighters searched the house and no occupants were found. No injuries were reported.

he cause of the fire is under investigation. Damage estimates are not available at this time.

Kilbride Avenue fire
At 11:33 p.m. on Saturday, November 11, 2023, WFPS crews responded to reports of a fire in a one-and-a-half storey house in the 300 block of Kilbride Avenue.

When crews arrived to the scene, there was smoke coming from the structure. They fought the fire from the interior of the house, declaring the fire under control at 12:01 a.m.

Crews completed a search of the house and no occupants were located. There were no injuries reported.

The fire remains under investigation. Damage estimates are not available at this time.
