Winnipeg, MB – At 3:40 a.m. on Friday, November 3, 2023, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to reports of a fire in a two-and-a-half storey house in the 600 block of Sherbrook Street.
When crews arrived to the scene, they found smoke in the structure. They fought the fire from inside the house, declaring the fire under control at 4:01 a.m.
Three occupants and a dog were evacuated from the house with assistance from firefighters. All three individuals were assessed by on-scene paramedics. One was transported to hospital in unstable condition. The other two did not require transport to hospital.
The City of Winnipeg’s Emergency Social Services (ESS) team was deployed to assist the displaced residents in finding temporary accommodations.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. Damage estimates are not available at this time.
