Work planned as a precaution and arenas expected to re-open ahead of winter recreation activities

Winnipeg, MB – The City is currently conducting mould remediation at Century Arena (1377 Clarence Ave) and St. Vital Arena (580 St Anne's Rd). Scheduled work is expected to be completed by the end of July 2023, allowing both facilities to open well ahead of winter recreation activities.

The City completed inspections of each its City-operated arenas that have wood ceilings with reflective covering and identified traces of mould in Century Arena and St. Vital Arena. Regular air testing at these arenas has confirmed no public safety risk, however remediation is going ahead as a preventative measure at these two locations.

A list of City-operated arenas is available at City of Winnipeg – Arenas.
