Moving on Marion Street moves into final engagement

Released: March 3, 2023 at 9:32 a.m.

Winnipeg, MB – Winnipeggers can now have their say on the proposed future state of the Marion Street corridor.

Phase 3 of the Moving on Marion Street project opens today, with the unveiling of a proposed design that would improve traffic flow and road safety, enhance neighbourhood vibrance and livability, and add new active transportation infrastructure through the project area (Marion Street from St. Mary’s Road to Lagimodiere Boulevard).

The design focuses on:

  • Enhancing vibrance and neighbourhood livability through the Marion-Goulet couplet
  • Adding bike infrastructure in the Marion-Goulet couplet area
  • Improving the Youville-Marion-Goulet intersection
  • Improving the Marion-Archibald intersection and Happyland Park
  • Realigning the road on Youville Street
  • Improving the Marion-Archibald, Marion-Panet-Dawson, and Marion-Lagimodiere/Dugald intersections

Residents are being asked to review the proposed design to see what the Marion Street corridor could look like and how it would function, and to provide feedback on the design and how it would change their experiences with the area. What we hear in this phase will help us develop a recommended design and cost estimate for Council’s consideration.

Feedback will be collected through March 24, 2023. More information on how to engage is available at winnipeg.ca/movingonmarion.
