Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to fire on Pritchard Avenue

Winnipeg, MB – At 12:32 p.m. on Thursday, August 25, 2022, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to reports of a fire in a two-storey house in the 400 block of Pritchard Avenue.

When crews arrived on scene they found heavy smoke and flames coming from the house. An offensive attack was launched and the fire was declared under control at 1:04 p.m.

All occupants evacuated the building prior to the arrival of crews, with one individual exiting through a second-storey window and jumping to the ground. Two individuals were assessed by paramedics, and one of them was transported to hospital in unstable condition.

The City’s Emergency Social Services were called to assist the displaced occupants in finding temporary accommodations.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, and damage estimates are not available at this time.
