Winnipeg, MB – The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) proudly celebrates Winnipeg paramedics during Paramedic Services Week, an annual awareness week recognizing the important work of paramedics. This year’s theme is Paramedic as Educator: Citizen Ready.
“Winnipeg’s paramedics have always been there when we need them most, and during the pandemic their impact is more apparent than ever,” said Chief John Lane, Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service. “We are extremely grateful for the professionalism, skill, and compassion they demonstrate each day while serving Winnipeggers, especially amid changing protocols and safety measures.”
The WFPS employs 670 licensed paramedics who provide care to Winnipeg residents in dynamic conditions, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year. Additionally, WFPS has run a specialized community paramedicine program for 11 years.
In addition to front line paramedics, the WFPS also thanks the service’s paramedic training staff and public education experts for their commitment and support.
