Residents invited to bring their licensed dogs to two City wading pools for a swim as outdoor aquatics facilities close for the season

Winnipeg, MB – City of Winnipeg outdoor aquatics facilities are preparing to close for the season. But before they do, we’re inviting residents to bring their licensed dogs to two City wading pools for a swim.

Bruce Park Wading Pool, 1966 Portage Avenue, and Southdale Community Centre Wading Pool, 254 Lakewood Boulevard will host licensed dogs on Saturday, August 31, 2019.

Bruce Park Wading Pool will welcome dogs under 30 pounds from 10 a.m. to noon, and dogs over 30 pounds from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Southdale Community Centre Wading Pool will welcome dogs over 30 pounds from 10 a.m. to noon, and dogs under 30 pounds from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

All dogs must have a valid City of Winnipeg licence and registration to participate is required; please contact 311 to register.

Spray pads
The City’s spray pads will remain open until Monday, September 2, 2019. For more information on spray pads, please see City of Winnipeg – Spray Pads.

Outdoor pools
The following pools will remain open until Monday, September 2:

  • Freight House
  • Kildonan Park
  • St. Vital
  • Transcona Aquatic Park
  • Westdale

The other outdoor pools will close on Friday, August 30, 2019. For more information on outdoor pools, please see City of Winnipeg – Outdoor Pools.

Wading pools
A number of the City’s wading pools will begin closing this week, however the following wading pools will remain open until Monday, September 2:

  • Central Park
  • Dakota Park
  • Machray Park
  • Shaughnessy Park
  • West Kildonan Memorial Community Centre
  • Westdale
