Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service Update: William Avenue Fire and Manitoba Avenue Fire

William Avenue Fire

Winnipeg, MB - At 1:09 a.m. on December 16, 2018, Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) crews responded to reports of fire in a two and a half-storey single family residence in the 500 block of William Avenue. Upon arrival, crews mounted an offensive attack and the fire was declared under control at 1:46 a.m. The house suffered extensive smoke, fire and water damage throughout.

Occupants of the home had self-evacuated prior to the arrival of WFPS crews. One individual was treated on scene and transported to hospital for smoke inhalation.

The cause of the fire is under investigation and no damage estimates are available at this time.

Manitoba Avenue Fire

At 5:24 a.m. on December 16, 2018, Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) crews responded to reports of fire in a single family residence in the 700 block of Manitoba Avenue. Upon arrival, crews found a well-involved fire and mounted an offensive attack. It was declared extinguished at 6:09 a.m. Extensive smoke, fire and water damage were noted.

There were no occupants in the home at the time of the fire. No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation and no damage estimates are available at this time.
