Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service Update: Nichol Avenue Fire

Winnipeg, MB – At 8:20 p.m. on November 3, 2018, Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) crews responded to reports of fire in a two-storey structure in the 0-100 block Nichol Avenue. Upon arrival, an offensive attack was launched and the fire was extinguished.

All occupants had self-evacuated prior to crews’ arrival. One occupant was assessed on scene by paramedics. No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation and no damage estimates are available at this time.

While responding to this fire a WFPS fire truck was involved in a motor vehicle collision near the intersection of Westdale Place and St. Mary’s Road. There were no injuries to civilians or WFPS crew members. Minor damage occurred to both vehicles.
