Millennium Library hosts BookFest: A local event to connect readers with publishers and authors

Winnipeg, MB – The City of Winnipeg’s Millennium Library (251 Donald St.) is hosting BookFest on Friday, November 2, on the second floor from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. BookFest will showcase the best in fiction and non-fiction and feature a Book Blitz, fun quick-fire talks on must-read books, and a Book Publisher Expo featuring book displays and the opportunity to meet local authors.

Book Publisher Expo (11 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.)
Publishers will showcase the latest and best in prairie publishing, including: Highwater Press, Peanut Butter Press, Fernwood Publishing, At Bay Press, Turnstone Press, Signature Editions, Great Plains Publications, University of Manitoba Press, and ARP Books.

Local authors include S. M. Beiko, Jennifer Ilse Black, Di Brandt, Ryan Harby, Jamie Isfeld, Alison Preston, David Robertson, Brenda Sciberras, Margaret Sweatman, Jackie Traverse, and Doug Whiteway.

Prize draws are included.

Book Blitz
Join Red River College journalism instructor Joanne Kelly, Kelly Parker from 94.3 and CTV’s Rachel Lagacé for quick-fire book talks on some of their “must reads.”

  • 11:30 a.m. with Kelly Parker
  • 12:30 p.m. with Rachel Lagacé
  • 1:30 p.m. with Joanne Kelly
