Academy Rd. Fire
Winnipeg, MB – At 9:49 p.m. on Thursday, October 18, 2018, Winnipeg Fire Paramedic (WFPS) crews responded to reports of smoke in a restaurant in the 400-block of Academy Rd. Upon arrival, crews discovered the source of the smoke to be fire in the attic of the building. An offensive strategy was launched and after knocking down the interior ceiling, the fire was quickly extinguished.
No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation and no damage estimates are available at this time.
Cadboro Rd. Fire
At 10:21 p.m. on Thursday, October 18, 2018, Winnipeg Fire Paramedic (WFPS) crews responded to reports of fire and a possible explosion on Cadboro Rd.
Once on scene, crews found a houseboat and trailer engulfed in flames. As the fire occurred at an address not serviced by hydrants, water was shuttled in using WFPS tankers in order to extinguish the flames.
No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation and no damage estimates are available at this time.
