Public invited to provide input for Route 90 Improvements Study

Released: June 13, 2018 at 1:30 p.m.

Winnipeg, MB – The City of Winnipeg is inviting the public to view the functional design and provide further input on the widening of Route 90 between Taylor Avenue and Ness Avenue. The route needs to be upgraded to address current and future traffic volumes, to accommodate new and future redevelopment, and to meet the needs of pedestrians, cyclists, and transit users.

Phase 1 of public engagement wrapped up in spring 2018, which included an online survey with over 1,800 responses, a scientific survey, and meetings with the Project Advisory Committee. A functional design was prepared with consideration from the public input collected in Phase 1 of public engagement. The functional design and the Phase 1 Public Engagement Summary Report are available on the project website.

The City is now beginning Phase 2 of public engagement to help refine the functional design into a preliminary design. Winnipeggers are invited to participate in an online survey available on the project website from June 13 to July 30, 2018. The City is also hosting two pop-ups at the Outlet Collection Winnipeg mall.
