Winnipeg, MB – To accommodate the Winnipeg Whiteout Street Party, along with associated set-up and take-down, the following streets will be closed on Sunday, May 20 from 4:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m.:
- Southbound Donald Street between Portage Avenue and St. Mary Avenue
- Northbound Smith Street between the Millennium Library Parkade entrance (approximately half a block north of St. Mary Avenue) to the back lane just south of Portage Avenue (to accommodate access to the Radisson Hotel parkade.)
- Graham Avenue between Hargrave Street and Garry Street
Motorists should allow additional travel time to get to their destinations, and use alternate routes such as Main Street and Osborne Street.
As a result of the street closure, the Donald Street entrance to and exit from the Millennium Library Parkade will not be accessible on Sunday, May 20 from 4:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. All vehicles will need to enter and exit through the Smith Street entrance. The stairwell doors at street level to the parkade will be locked at 4:00 a.m. on May 20, and entrance to the parkade will be accessible only through the skywalk during this time.
The Millennium Library will be closed on Sunday, May 20.
Winnipeg Transit buses will be rerouted off of Graham Avenue from Carlton Street to Garry Street on Sunday, May 20 beginning at 4:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m.
Bus Stops along Graham Avenue eastbound between Hargrave Street and Garry Street will be temporarily relocated to northbound Fort Street at Graham Avenue. Bus stops along westbound Graham Avenue between Smith Street and Edmonton Street will be temporarily relocated to westbound St. Mary Avenue at Donald Street and to northbound Edmonton Street mid-block between St. Mary and Graham Avenues.
The Handi-Transit loading zone on southbound Donald Street at Graham Avenue will be temporarily relocated to eastbound Portage Avenue next to the Radisson Hotel.
Although additional buses will be available to assist with passenger demand, Sunday bus schedules are in effect, with fewer buses running than on a weekday. Please check your schedule and allow extra travel time.
